David Kliman is Co-Founder at Event Leaders Exchange (ELX). In his role, he helps shape the organization’s vision, guiding its mission to elevate the business events industry and nurture a global community of industry leaders through meaningful dialogue and innovation.

A true connector of people and ideas, David’s influence extends through the industry. He was the 2023 recipient of the Paul Flackett IMEX Academy Award and named one of the Top 18 Event Industry Influencers in the U.S. for 2024. His leadership footprints include co-founding ELX, driving the Events Industry Council’s APEX COVID Business Recovery effort, and serving as International Chair of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) . He was also honored as MPI’s International Meeting Planner of the Year and listed among the Top 25 Influencers in the Meetings Industry by Northstar Meetings Group in 2020.

Globally curious and passionately adventurous, David has explored 128+ countries, all 50 U.S. states, and every Canadian province and territory—a testament to his global perspective and love for connecting across cultures.
