Las Vegas has made constant reinvention part of its value to the meetings industry.

With more than 80% of planners returning on a regular rotation, the destination’s continued investment in new venues, experiences, meeting spaces, and infrastructure gives event leaders more options each time they return. That matters at a time when every event is expected to earn attendance, with meetings in Las Vegas seeing a 9% increase in average attendance compared with other destinations.

We spoke with Rebecca DeLuca, Vice President of Destination Sales from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) as she shares how $8 billion in new development, major infrastructure projects, and the LVCVA’s local expertise are helping corporate event leaders create programs that feel fresh, support business objectives, and make a stronger case for travel.

Las Vegas has built a reputation for constant reinvention. Why has staying in a perpetual state of evolution become such an important part of the destination's strategy?

Rebecca: Las Vegas understands that your event’s success depends on keeping experiences fresh and relevant for your attendees. More than 80% of planners return to Las Vegas on a regular rotation, and constant reinvention is how we help them do that. By continually adding new venues, attractions, and experiences, we give organizers the ability to redesign their programs each time they come back, so their events feel new, even when the destination is familiar.

The phrase "Tuesday's big news is next Tuesday's old news" captures how quickly things move in Las Vegas. How does that pace of change benefit meeting planners and their attendees?

Rebecca: The pace of change in Las Vegas directly benefits planners who are under pressure to justify travel and attendance. Meetings held in Las Vegas already see a 9% increase in average attendance compared to other destinations, and one reason is that attendees know there is always something new to experience.

By continually introducing one of a kind offerings, the destination makes it easier for organizers to attract and retain their audiences and to demonstrate that choosing Las Vegas was the right strategic call.

Beyond headline openings and major announcements, what are some of the less visible investments that are making the biggest difference for meetings and events?

Rebecca: In addition to the $8 billion in new development underway across the destination, many properties are upgrading their meeting spaces in ways that directly support organizers. Recent examples include Green Valley Ranch, M Resort Spa Casino, Mandalay Bay, and significant reinvestment at The Venetian focused on enhancing the group experience.

At the same time, infrastructure projects like the Vegas Loop are transforming how attendees move around the city, making it faster and easier to connect key meeting venues. Together, these investments give planners more flexibility, improve the attendee journey, and ensure Las Vegas can deliver a world class meeting experience at any scale.

Corporate event leaders are under increasing pressure to deliver experiences that justify travel and attendance. How does Las Vegas help organizers meet those expectations?

Rebecca: Today’s event leaders are expected to prove that every trip is worth it, and Las Vegas doesn’t leave them to figure that out alone. The pace of change here is exciting, but it can be overwhelming, which is where the LVCVA comes in.

Our team helps organizers cut through the complexity of the destination, guiding them to the right venues, hotels, and new experiences that align with their objectives. With unparalleled options at a range of price points, we work alongside planners to design events that extend well beyond the meeting room and clearly justify travel and attendance.

For corporate event leaders, the pace of change in Las Vegas creates a practical advantage. It gives teams room to rethink the attendee experience each time they return, while drawing on a destination with the scale and infrastructure to support complex programs.

And as expectations around travel, attendance, and business impact continue to rise, that ability to keep evolving matters. The strongest destination decisions are the ones that support the objectives behind the event. Las Vegas is continuing to invest in giving event leaders more ways to do exactly that.
